Take Your Measurements
You'll need a soft measuring tape. For best results, wear a non-padded bra or no bra.
Measure directly under your bust, where the band of your bra sits
Measure around the fullest part of your bust
How to Measure
1. Underbust Measurement
Wrap the measuring tape around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Keep the tape level and snug but not tight. Exhale normally before taking the measurement.
2. Bust Measurement
Measure around the fullest part of your bust. The tape should be level across your back and not too tight. Stand straight and look forward.
Perfect Fit Tips
How It Works
Our Bra Size Calculator simplifies the process of finding your perfect fit. You'll be guided to take two key measurements: your band size (around your ribcage, just under your bust) and your bust size (around the fullest part of your chest). The calculator then uses a standard sizing formula to determine your band and cup size. The band size is based on your ribcage measurement, while the cup size is calculated from the difference between your bust and band measurements. It's a straightforward, data-driven way to get a reliable starting point for your bra size.
Why It's Important
Finding the right bra size is about more than just comfort—it's essential for your health and confidence. An ill-fitting bra can lead to a host of issues, including back and shoulder pain, poor posture, skin irritation, and even damaged breast tissue. Conversely, a well-fitting bra provides proper support, improves your posture, makes your clothes fit better, and boosts your self-esteem. Taking a few minutes to measure yourself can make a world of difference in your daily comfort and well-being.
Understanding Your Results
Your calculated bra size is an excellent starting point, but it's important to think of it as a guide, not a final verdict. Bra sizing can vary significantly between different brands, styles, and even countries. We recommend you use this result to start trying on bras. Pay attention to how the band, cups, and straps feel. The band should be snug and level, the cups should fully contain your breasts without spilling or gaping, and the straps should not dig into your shoulders. Don't be afraid to try on 'sister sizes' (e.g., if a 34C is too loose in the band, try a 32D) to find the absolute perfect fit for your unique shape.
Tips & Tricks
- When measuring, use a soft, flexible measuring tape. A metal one won't contour to your body correctly.
- Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor all the way around your body for both measurements.
- When you try on a new bra, fasten it on the loosest hook. This allows you to tighten it as the bra naturally stretches over time.
- Bend over after putting on a bra and 'scoop' your breast tissue into the cups to ensure you're fully supported.
- Your bra straps should only be doing about 10% of the support work. The majority (90%) should come from the band.
